Just a few thoughts

1. Do not under any circumstances potato peel a chunk of your finger off. It hurts and is no fun. No amount of batman band-aids can make that feel better. Thankfully, the chunk remained attached to my finger long enough to get away from the potatoes! Eeeew, that could have been gross.

2. If someone you grew up with and love dearly graduates or has some big event to showcase an accomplishment, be sure to attend! Especially if that person is your little brother with whom you share quite the history of teasing, picking on, and being generally mean to each other. It really lets them know how much you love them, despite the fights that you grew up with. I think it meant a lot to my brother for me to come all the way to San Antonio just for him. He got teary when I gave him a card, and boys (especially recently recruited military boys) do not easily tear up.

3. One should not be so eager to complete their work tasks when they have two full days of work ahead of them. It makes for a very long eight hour shift if you have nothing left to do. Or one might get creative and redo some aspects of their previously completed tasks, just to fill time. Great things can come of this, but not always.

More on my trip to San Antonio later :) And I will post pictures!

Oh my god.. We're connected at the core. I was just thinking today (randomly) how I hate peeling potatoes with a peeler because I always peel off part of my finger.. and it's absolutely disgusting. Sorry it happened to you.. =(
