I stayed up late last night finishing up The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale. I know I should probably write up a blog for offthestacks, but I can't bring myself to post there yet. Maybe another book that really hits me as amazing. The Goose Girl was good, really cute, a little predictable but in a good way. I mean, it's a 'fairytale', so certain plot points must happen (no spoilers in case anyone has not read it yet). But I was cheering for the characters by the end and very happy with the way it all wrapped up. Nicely done.
I'm feeling like I've been missing a lot of good music with all my audio books, but I can't stay away from them. Josh started listening to You Suck on the drive to Georgia, even though I told him it looked bad, but we listened to two discs anyway, and now I have to finish it even though he said it was, in fact, pretty bad and had no interest. I just can't drop it that easily, even though it's bad I have to know how it ends. It's a weird compulsion. I am getting a little bored with Love Walked In, though. I'm not sure I can force myself through that one, so I might give up. Is it worth finishing? I still have American Wife to read, too.
Ok enough about books! I leave on Friday for San Antonio. My little brother is graduating from Basic Training for the Airforce and even though I will miss his graduation (it's early Friday morning) I will get to spend time with him while he has day leave from base. My mom and granny are both driving down from Georgia, so it'll be nice to see them again, and I haven't seen Justin since July. Hopefully his girlfriend/ex-girlfriend (not sure which it is currently) won't show up. She's crazy. Literally. And I really didn't like her when I met her in July, and I like most people so that should say a lot.
I got my 4ft Christmas tree put together. I went out and bought tinsel garland, ornaments, and a topper. We had the tree pre-lighted. Who else is annoyed at the lack of metal ornament hooks? I am. I mean, the plastic things are lame. LAME. I never poked my eye out with them when I was a kid, and the plastic things look tacky on the tree. I mean, the ornaments are already plasticy, why do we have to have plasticy hooks, too?? Yeesh.

You're so right about the plastic hooks.. Since when is that okay? I definitely don't want one of my children swallowing a metal hook, but come on now! The plastic ones are horrible looking?
Nancy Pearl says that you shouldn't force yourself through a book. Honestly, I liked the sequel to Love Walked In better then I liked the first one. So, I would say quit that book and start in on American Wife, then tell me how it is and if I should read it.. =)
You're on a blogging spree!
Yay! Another Blog! Yay!
You make me feel like I need to read more... ;)
